Medicare is health insurance for people 65 and older as well as people under 65 with certain disabilities. There are several different parts that make up Medicare and can be confusing. The following is a brief outline of the different parts.

Medicare Part D (Prescription coverage)
Original Medicare is made up of Parts A and B. As there are gaps in these coverages, it is recommended that people consider purchasing Medicare Supplement insurance (from private companies) to fill the gaps and limit out of pocket costs. A Part D drug plan is also recommended to cover prescription costs. |
